Hello,
I’m not sure if this is the place for this but… My good friends and I have been camping and hunting on Oak and Sand Islands since ‘96 (missed the ‘02 hunt). We have grown very fond of Oak Island in particular. As you know the muzzleloader hunt is in October. What a great time of the year to enjoy this wonderful resource. We have spent countless hours exploring the interior of Oak Island and we are always amazed at how vast this island is. The camping is the best. The colors, cool days, no bugs. Good times…

I’m a sea kayaker from Illinois who has made several trips to the Apostles over the last eight years. I have been involved with two groups in the Chicago area raising funds to put more much-needed bear boxes on the Islands and glad to see that Friends is involved in the project as well. The Apostles are one of, if not “the”, best locations in the midwest for sea kayaking and camping. I’m looking forward to another trip this year.

I’ve been coming to the area since around 1970 and kayak camping since 1997. I do a blog, mainly on kayaking Lake Superior and the Apostles are the most frequently written about area of the lake. Its a wonderful spot.
